Koçiu in Elbasan inspects works at the recreational and sports park for all age groups

Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu has closely inspected the works in the sports and toy area for children in Elbasan, where a former degraded military unit is now being transformed into a multifunctional center. The project financed by the Albanian government for the sports and toy corners for children "Dua të lugaj", which is expected to be completed within September of this year, will be at the service of all age groups to learn and spend free time.
"This area dedicated to the community and the city of Elbasan, now completely transformed thanks to the investment made by the Albanian government through the Albanian Development Fund into a park for the entire city, not only a playground, but also a recreational park, social space, interaction for the community, giving value to the entire area here, a peripheral area that is now turning into a center that gains value in its entire area. An investment of 200 million lek from the state budget that completely transforms this area into a very attractive area for sought-after residents, but also gives the opportunity to anyone who is a sports fan, through the perimeter track, cycling, sports activities, but also the elderly to spend time", emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Koçiu.
Among other things, she emphasized that "the "I Want to Play" corners are being developed both within the residential complexes of the buildings within the city, but also within smaller residential areas, to serve even more for children, for their parents in areas that are not only safe, but also that create opportunities for children to play, to interact with each other, but to develop better and to spend their free time creatively."
During his speech, the mayor of Elbasan, Gledjan Llatja, shared the project's details while evaluating the investment as one of the most important in this municipality for children.
"This is an environment of almost 23,000 m2, which has been completely transformed. Since '94, we in Elbasan have not had a large playground for children, but also a multifunctional center in fact for all age groups. This includes a 430-meter linear running track. We have included strength corners for the elderly. There is also a large playground for children and a track to teach children cycling, to learn bicycles. We have sports fields, there are two football fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, as well as a padel court. It is an environment that is very helpful to us in the city of Elbasan", said Llatja.
This area in Elbasan is expected to receive even more development due to the fact that the large Automotopark project will soon be developed.
