Transfer of duty at the Ministry of Defense Ermal Nufi: Service to the Homeland, a duty that does not come without sacrifices
The Ministry of Defense held a ceremony to hand over the duties from Pirro Vengu to the new Minister of Defense, Ermal Nufi. The new Minister said that he takes on this duty with honor and dedication.
"Every handover of duty is to know that institutions are strengthened on the continuity and respect of those who have served before us. The strategy is built every day by the people who work, the men and women who wear the uniform, the commanders who make difficult decisions. Today I want to express my deepest respect for every member of the Armed Forces. You protect the territory of our country, guarantee the security of our citizens, represent Albania with honor. Our allies have proven their professionalism by decorating, recognizing the contributions in which we also have martyrs. Albania has shown that it is not only a contributor. In my family there have been men and women who have served in the forces of this country, who have sacrificed their lives and families. Serving the homeland is a duty that does not come without sacrifices, it is a privilege that always makes you proud. I do not come to the ministry to work alone. I will work closely with everyone to further strengthen the security capacities of this country", said Nufi, among other things.
In his speech, former Minister Vengu called it a blessing to hand over his duties to a very good friend and compatriot.
"You should know that my full-time transition as a deputy of Vlora, I do not experience as a departure from the mission of national security, on the contrary, security is protected at other tables. In my new assignment, full of gratitude for the support from Prime Minister Rama, I will always carry the spirit of this ministry with me. Working with people in uniform has taught me humility, showing that authority does not come from a loud voice, but from silent responsibility. It has taught me self-restraint in relation to the conviction of absolute truths. War is always a tragedy, but preparation is necessary because to stop the weapons, weapons are needed and this is where the weight lies. This ministry knows very well the price of responsibility. Behind every uniform there is a story and behind every wound there is a human being who deserves to be heard. I am fortunate to hand over the baton to a good friend and compatriot. The institution is strong, Albania is in safe hands and the mission continues. I leave this ministry with great respect, I continue the mission with the same dedication. Thank you for the trust! ", said Vengu.
