Ibrahimaj signs the Social Security Agreement between Albania and Poland!

The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, signed the Social Security Agreement between the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Poland, marking an important step in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
This agreement is very good news for Albanian and Polish citizens who have lived or worked in each of the countries, as it guarantees the recognition and totalization of insurance periods, the right to receive an old-age pension according to legal age, as well as protection from the loss of rights as a result of movement between the two countries.
"The agreement aims to provide legal security and social protection for citizens, ensuring equal treatment and respect for rights acquired in the social security systems of both countries," said Minister Ibrahimaj, after signing this agreement.
According to her, this act represents a concrete step in strengthening relations between Albania and Poland, as well as another important progress on Albania's path to European integration, in accordance with European Union standards for the coordination of social security systems.
The signing of this agreement confirms the commitment of the Albanian government to the social protection of Albanian citizens abroad and to the expansion of the network of bilateral agreements in the interest of their interests.
Albania currently has 17 bilateral agreements in force, 5 agreements agreed, and 3 other bilateral social security agreements are currently under negotiation or in the process of preparation. This demonstrates the ongoing commitment of the Albanian government to expanding social protection coverage for its citizens abroad and to aligning the social security coordination framework with European Union standards.
