More entities are opening and fewer are closing - In the first three months, 3966 new businesses were registered in the capital
The year 2025 has started positively in terms of new entities in the capital. Referring to data from Open Data Tirana, in the first quarter of this year a total of 3966 new entities were opened. But comparing it to the same parallel period a year ago, 442 more entities were opened.
According to the data, a total of 1,649 main entities have been opened, while a total of 334 secondary entities have been opened. But in which sectors have the most entities been opened?
In the main entities, service units lead, with 860 service units opened in the first quarter, while in the first quarter of 2024 only 728 were opened.
But what about the situation for closed entities?
According to the same data, in the first three months of this year, 982 entities were closed, compared to 60 more entities closed in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, main entities have closed more, accounting for 275, while secondary entities have closed 216. According to the data, retail entities and service units are the ones that have closed more, accounting for 165 and 157 respectively.
