Strengthening the tourism sector, need for human capital - Jaka: With salaries of 1500 euros, immigrants return
Tourism remains one of the main pillars of the country's economy and development. According to the presented strategy for tourism 2024-2030, Albania will be divided into six regions, but securing the workforce remains a challenge.
In Albania, the number of foreign tourists visiting the museum cities such as Gjirokastra and Berati, as well as the mountainous areas in the north of the country, continues to increase.
Only during the month of October, our country was visited by 9% more visitors compared to the same period of 2023. However, tourist operators continue to face difficulties in securing the labor force, due to emigration.
The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Tirana, Nikolin Jaka, told SCAN TV that despite several meetings with many countries to secure human capital, it seems that even 2025 will bring a problem.
Jaka emphasizes that it must be the business itself that must take measures to ensure favorable conditions and wages for employees.
Currently, tourism in the country needs about 15 thousand employees. According to official data, during the month of October alone, Albania was visited by about 762 thousand foreign visitors.
