"The budget for culture and art will be a priority" - Berisha: More than doubling of funds. Special legal status for artists
The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has presented the government's program for art and culture, drafted in cooperation with the German "Konrad Adenauer" foundation. During his speech, Berisha, among other things, promised to define a special legal status for artists, writers and people of culture.
Doubling the budget for culture and art and completely restructuring the Ministry of Culture in the function of the branches of art and culture, their protection and development, are our unchanging objectives. The adoption of the law on transparent sponsorship of art and culture by businesses is another of our commitments. We will encourage businesses and businessmen to sponsor transparently by proportionally reducing the taxes they pay to the state. These are bonuses for art.
According to Berisha, full coordination with the Kosovo authorities and Albanians in the diaspora is a condition for the development and progress of our national culture.
Joint initiatives in various fields of theater, film, festivals between Kosovo and Albania should be a law in our effort to protect culture and its development. Today we have more Albanians outside Albania and Kosovo than in these two countries. Today we live in a time when the digital age makes distance virtual. In this context, we pledge to make every effort so that every Albanian talent, wherever he may be, feels the support and backing of the Albanian government. To feel its interest.
