"Agritourism and agriculture, pillars of the economy" - Rama, with Berat farmers: Financial support for everyone
Prime Minister and Socialist Party leader Edi Rama held a meeting with farmers and entrepreneurs in the Berat region. During the meeting, Rama emphasized the importance of developing agro-tourism structures and agriculture, as they are pillars of sustainable economic development.
"Despite the fact that we have positive multiplying numbers, whether in financial support or beneficiaries, it is 11 times the number of beneficiaries, which is 67 thousand, compared to the 5,600 beneficiary farmers that we found when we took office. We are promoting financial support in order to unite and increase interaction between farmers and between collection and processing points. Today I am glad that we have a new financial instrument, 250 million euros, an innovative financing line of the BoA, which enables all entrepreneurs in the village or those who want to start a business, whether in production, agro-processing, or agro-tourism, to receive loans with 70% collateral guaranteed by the state and with an interest rate of less than 3%."
According to Rama, all farmers who need assistance and not only them will be supported.
"We, through AZHBR, accompany this process, support those who need assistance, we have signed agreements with banks, which have also started information campaigns because it is the government that guarantees. Let's further raise the level of production, processing and the level of exports. We have the objective of reaching 1 billion in exports. Another half billion is very ambitious."
