Energy subsidy for vulnerable families - Applications open through the eKosova platform
The Ministry of Finance in Kosovo has announced that applications for the Vulnerable Electricity Consumer Protection Program 2025 - 2026 have opened. The ministry says that citizens can apply for energy subsidies through the eKosova platform.
According to the announcement, families who applied last year do not need to reapply, as their data has been automatically carried over to 2025.
"However, if you have changed any information, such as the number of family members, residence or electricity meter, you can easily update them on the same form, by making the changes and then clicking "Apply", it is stated in the clarifications made by this department.
According to the Ministry of Finance, this program aims to support the most vulnerable families during the winter season to make it easier to cope with electricity costs.
The Ministry of Finance has also announced the criteria for citizens who want to be beneficiaries of this program. The main criteria for benefiting: Citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, income up to 150 euros per member, real estate up to 100,000 euros.
The subsidy is implemented according to a calculation formula, which is based on the average family income and the amount of the electricity bill for the respective month.
"The application remains open for 6 months, but we invite all new applicants and those from last year who have changes in their data to apply in October as retroactive payments will not be made," states the announcement distributed by the Ministry of Finance regarding the opening of the application for the Vulnerable Electricity Consumer Protection Program 2025–2026.
