Voting process in Kosovo closes, CEC: Turnout 40.4%
Throughout Kosovo, at 19:00, the closing of the voting process for the parliamentary elections began. Meanwhile, after the end of the voting process, the counting of votes of citizens who showed up to vote has also begun.
According to the Central Election Commission, from over 90% of the voting centers, the participation in this process results in 40.4%, but not including the vote of the diaspora. Calculating the turnout in the elections with 6.86% fewer voters compared to the 2021 parliamentary elections.
"Based on preliminary data from 2297 polling stations or 90.68% of them, out of a total of 2533, in the elections for the Assembly of Kosovo in February 2025, 40.04% or 789,172 voters out of 1,970,944 from the list with the right to vote voted," said CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi.
According to the Voter List, the number of citizens with the right to vote within Kosovo was: 1,970,944 voters, who are distributed in 903 voting centers with a total of 2,533 polling stations.
In addition to regular voting in these centers, the CEC has also designated 38 Voting Centers for conditional voting, one for each municipality, with a total of 56 polling stations. The number of political entities certified to participate in these elections is 28, of which 20 are political parties, 5 coalitions, 2 civic initiatives and 1 independent candidate. The number of candidates for deputies, certified by the CEC and belonging to these political entities is 1,279 candidates.
