Albania launches cyber-attack tenders: Institutions rush to renew licenses, applications, and attack simulations.
The cyber-attack has made Albanian institutions start testing to see whether they are affected by it. SCAN TV has analysed the recently announced tenders and noticed a hastiness in the movement to renew the expired license for the programs of information. The cyber-attack that happened a little while ago came through an unprotected server on an unprotected site.
The General Directorate of Taxes and Fees has announced the tender proxy with the object "Cyber Security Audit Service and Penetration Testing".
"Given the current situation of attacks from abroad towards AKSHI and the e-Albania portal, as well as to protect our institution from a repeated scenario, it needs an assessment of information security in internal and external network infrastructure in the field of cyber security."
This is mostly a test and response of all concrete object vulnerabilities in two variants:
Black Box Testing
White Box Testing
Black Box testing would be used to simulate attacks from the outside as if it were an attack by an external hacker, with no access from the network.
"The White Box testing will require the simulation from the inside, specifically analyzing all the problems of the network, activities, Active Director Applications and Data Base," which is written in the documents of the argumentation on why this tender is needed.
Also, for the same purpose, the Consumer Protection Agency in Tirana has announced a tender to protect the online security system.
The provision of a fund of 2 million ALL is aimed at the realization of the cybernetics education project, especially for young people. For educational purposes, it is also the realization of a campaign on social networks.
Also, the Albanian Post has announced a tender that focuses on the cyber security of critical systems. It has also installed and administered some of the infrastructure, platforms, and important technology systems of national importance.
Likewise, the Institute of Statistics has also announced a tender for the renewal of the license that expired at the end of last year and which provides for the maintenance service of information technology software.
The initiative to manage through AKSHI public electronic services has caused its hacker attack to expose not only the information center but other information.
For the cyber-attack a few days ago, special investigations were carried out, the causes were found, but their scale has not yet been clarified.
