Minister Ibrahimaj: Albanian government committed to a fairer, more transparent

The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, participated today in the presentation of the FIAA report "Business Environment in Albania 2025", where she praised the contribution of this document as an important guide for improving public policies and strengthening dialogue with the private sector.

Minister Ibrahimaj highlighted the progress achieved in several areas, including the transparency of government procedures, relations with the tax administration, facilitation of licensing and permit procedures, public procurement, as well as the political climate and law enforcement.

She also noted challenges that continue to remain, such as bureaucracy, corruption, informality, lack of skilled labor, as well as property registration issues.

Minister Ibrahimaj emphasized the importance of the government's cooperation with the business community to improve the business climate and to make the most of the opportunities of the European single market, focusing on standards, laws and policies that make Albanian business more competitive.

"We must cooperate on very important issues, which are the standards that the business community must achieve to benefit as much as possible from the European single market. My priority will be to cooperate with the business community to maximize the knowledge of this community on policies and laws related to the internal market, with the aim of approximating standards and increasing the competitiveness of Albanian businesses in the European single market", declared Ibrahimaj.

According to the FIAA report, businesses have made significant improvements in key areas, such as transparency of procedures (+16 points), relations with the tax administration (+9 points) and simplification of licenses and permits (+10 points). However, the minister underlined that challenges such as bureaucracy, corruption, informality and the lack of qualified workforce remain priorities on the government agenda.
