Smart bus stations in Elbasan - New system, real-time information for passengers
The Municipality of Elbasan has announced the opening of the tender for the creation of smart bus stations. The estimated limit fund for this project is 19 million and 331 thousand lekë.
With global policies geared towards more sustainable use of resources, passengers, especially in urban areas, are encouraged to switch from using private vehicles to using the provided public transport infrastructure.
According to the document published by the Public Procurement Agency, the system will be able to generate traffic control information, enabling dispatchers to optimize routes, frequencies and schedules.
According to the document, the system will support a large number of users simultaneously, will provide real-time information, and will offer high security in accessing data.
On the other hand, the mobile application will provide accurate predictions of bus arrival times at specific stops. In case of delays or route deviations, passengers will receive real-time notifications. Users can see all bus stops on an intuitive map. Meanwhile, the application will offer suggestions for the shortest routes based on their current location and destination. Passengers can calculate how long it will take to reach their destination.
Users can also set alarms for favorite lines and receive notifications when the bus is nearby.
