Albania 2030/ 16 years in NATO, Rama: We increased investments in the army tenfold. We will bring the salaries of the Armed Forces to the NATO average.
Prime Minister Edi Rama and Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu participated in the presentation of achievements and future challenges in the field of defense in Zall Herr. Rama emphasized that recruitments have increased fivefold and the country's army has become the best paid in the region, from the army that was once the worst paid.
"We have made major changes. The number of recruitments has increased fivefold. From the worst-paid army, it has become the best-paid army in the region and is close to NATO standards. We have increased salaries up to 1,550 euros and we have achieved what we promised. Our objective is for the average army salary to reach the level of the armies of advanced NATO countries. We are close to that level and we are continuing to work to achieve it", said Prime Minister Rama.
While Minister Vengu emphasized the work done over the years:
"A triple increase in relation to NATO structures, military engagement in deeds and not in words, where 500 Albanian soldiers will be engaged in missions abroad. We have also increased the level of preparation, demonstrating our capabilities even today. The main principle remains the development of the domestic military industry, while every day there is special attention from the Government and the Prime Minister for the Armed Forces," continued Minister Vengu.
