"We are increasing defense spending by 2.6%" - Rama: 500 jobs will be created in Pashaliman

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Pashaliman, Vlora, between the Italian maritime industry giant "Fincantieri", the state-owned company "KAYO" and the "Pavarësia" Industrial School.
The agreement aims to develop professional practices and create new employment opportunities in the construction sector and the maritime industry.
During his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama described this cooperation as an important and beneficial step for all parties. He emphasized that the military industry in Albania is entering a new phase of development, while emphasizing that defense spending will increase by 2.6% of GDP.
"We are increasing defense spending by 2.6%."
Among other things, Prime Minister Rama said that 500 more jobs will be created in Pashaliman through this partnership.
"There are 500 jobs that are being created in this territory by this partnership, 500 jobs that require qualified people. That require expertise, well-paid jobs, it must be taken into account that all those who will be involved will not simply be people who own a craft, but will be people who will also be viewed from the perspective of their image. Because they will be part of the Albanian defense system."
The agreement is expected to help prepare a new generation of Albanian specialists, who will support the development of the new maritime industrial center in Pashaliman.
At the same time, this cooperation further strengthens the strategic partnership between Albania and Italy, by directly linking vocational education to the needs of the labor market.
