Reform in the electricity sector - The review of the law in the Parliament begins, Muçaj: Financial effect on the budget, 1.9 million euros

The adaptation of the Albanian market to new technological developments and the legal framework of the European Union is the focus of the draft law "On the electricity sector", which has begun to be discussed in parliamentary committees.
During the presentation to the economy committee, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Enkelejda Muçja focused on some of the innovations, including storage, smart meters, or autoconsumers.
Muçaj also spoke about the financial effect that the implementation of the new law will have on the state budget, while also emphasizing the financial assistance that will come after its approval.
During the discussions in the committee, questions were raised regarding the operating model of public companies, the operation of the Albanian energy stock exchange, or even for customers in need, but according to ministry representatives, some of them will be resolved through sub-legal acts.
