Rama: We are increasing the minimum wage by 500 euros. It will come into effect in January 2026!
The country's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, during a question/answer session with citizens in his "Sy m'Sy" column on social platforms, announced that the minimum wage will increase in June of this year and will go from 400 to 500 euros.
He stated that the average salary has tripled. " When we took office, the average salary in the public sector was 372 euros and today in 2024 we closed with 1000 euros in the average salary, refer to INSTAT. So, we have made a very high increase, the overall average salary in the public and private sector was 322, today we have 830 euros in the average salary in Albania. What about the minimum salary? We had 157 euros, we have 400 euros and as I said before in June we will make it 500 euros and it will come into effect in January 2026, while most companies and businesses have a much higher minimum salary," said Rama.
