From traditional classes to "Smart Labs" - Digitization of education, 27 million euros for smart labs
The Council of Ministers has proposed the draft law "On the ratification of the agreement between Albania and the Development Bank of the Council of Europe, for the financing of the project "smart labs - digitization of the Albanian education system".
This bill aims to finance the "Smart Labs" project, with the aim of granting a loan, in the amount of 27 million euros, for the project. Also, this project is co-financed by a WBIF grant, in the amount of around 10 million euros.
Meanwhile, the overall objective of this project is to improve digital education in Albania in all school grades, from primary to secondary schools (grades 1 to 12).
In the published report, it is stated that the implementation and implementation of this program is in accordance with the cross-sectoral strategy "Albania's Digital Agenda" and the 2022-2026 action plan, specifically for "Digital Education and Digital Skills, the transformation of learning and teaching".
This comprehensive initiative is revolutionizing the way technology and coding are taught in schools, preparing students with essential skills for the future. Schools are being equipped with smart labs to stimulate an interactive learning environment.
Phase III of the "Smart Labs" project - digitalization of the Albanian educational system" aims to extend this initiative to 615 schools in the country, ensuring continuous progress in technological education.
The project will be implemented by ANA until December 2028. The Ministry of Education and Sports will be responsible for the functionality of Smart Labs, after the investment is made.
