From January 5, 2025, toll on the Thumane-Kashar axis - The payment is expected to be 2.1 euros without VAT per vehicle
On January 5, 2025, the application of the fee will start in the Thumane-Kashar segment. This information was made known by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, which qualifies this axis as one of the most important infrastructural arteries of Albania.
Earlier it was announced that the payment will not be less than 2.1 euros without VAT, while with VAT it will be 2.52 euros. The Thumane-Kashar segment was opened for vehicle traffic on June 30 of this year and until now, the passage of vehicles has been free of charge.
The Thumane-Kashar axis has a length of 21 kilometers and is the first highway of Category A. This means not only European road construction standards, but also a different speed limit than the other road axes of the country. This road axis will be the first axis where it will be possible to circulate with a speed limit of up to 130 kilometers per hour.
This highway is part of the Blue Corridor, one of the most important infrastructure projects that connects the country from north to south, being part of an international corridor. With the opening of this road axis, it is expected that all the traffic that is created on the northern highway or the problems at Rinas Airport will be finally eased.
Thumane-Kashar contains several works of art, 11 bridges, 105 tombinos, 6 overpasses and 6 underpasses, as well as large junctions with exits to the Rinas airport and the Kashar junction where the connection with the Tirana-Durres road is also made.
