Over 156 thousand passengers in four months - Port of Durres, 4% more passengers than a year ago
Passenger flows through the Port of Durres have continued to increase during the first months of 2026, confirming the role of this port as the main maritime passenger transport hub in Albania. Data published by the Durres Port Authority show a positive trend in movements at the ferry terminal, both in terms of the number of passengers and the transport of vehicles.
The Durrës Port Authority announces that, during the period January-April 2026, a total of 156,597 passengers traveled through the Port of Durrës. This number represents an increase of 4% compared to the same period a year earlier, testifying to a growing demand for maritime transport and the stable connections that the port offers with neighboring countries.
In parallel with the increase in the number of passengers, vehicle traffic has also increased. During the first four months of the year, 66,828 vehicles were transported by ferries, an important indicator that reflects the continuous movement of citizens on international maritime routes. This figure proves not only the intensity of traffic, but also the importance that maritime transport continues to have for the economy, tourism and trade exchanges.
Also, the approach of the summer season is expected to bring an even greater intensification of passenger and vehicle traffic, making the Port of Durres one of the most important entry and exit points in the country.
