Controls are facilitated for the correct entities - Which sectors are under the monitoring of the Labor Inspectorate?

Occupational safety and health remain an absolute priority for the Labor Inspectorate for 2026, especially in sectors such as construction and mining, which are considered to have high exposure to risk.
Eljo Muçaj Chief Inspector of the Labor Inspectorate:
"There will be increased inspections in those entities or sectors that are considered to be at higher risk and there will be fewer or no inspections in those sectors or entities that have a history of inspections and have demonstrated good performance in terms of implementing legislation. The absolute focus will remain on the assessment or inspections of occupational health and safety conditions, especially in high-risk sectors, such as the construction sector, but also the mining sector."
Meanwhile, the inspection plan for 2026 is also harmonized with Albania's commitments in the European integration process.
"It is also harmonized with the objectives, strategies and every commitment that we have made within the framework of the EU integration process. The Albanian government has plans and has defined actions, and agreed with international partners, mainly with the European delegation, on what will be the steps and all the developments that must be realized within the first 6 months of 2027. And the labor inspectorate has a key role in some of the main chapters, together with the Ministry of Economy and Innovation. In the inspection plans, it is strengthening the labor inspection system. It has to do with 5 main pillars, such as strengthening legislation, strengthening institutional capacities, strengthening human capacities, strengthening digital capacities."
