Hoxha publishes Delphi statement: Enlargement, central role in the EU agenda. Albania part of the historic change
The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, has reacted regarding the European Union enlargement process and the perspective of candidate countries.
“The Thessaloniki Declaration made a promise and created hope. More than two decades later, this promise has not yet been fully implemented, but it has not been in vain. The central role that enlargement occupies today on the European Union’s agenda is clear evidence of its enduring and strategic importance. The Delphi Declaration of 22 April 2026 should now help turn this promise into reality. The accelerated pace of negotiations for several candidate countries, including Albania, together with the renewed political commitment across the EU, are strong indicators that the European Union is moving towards accepting new members by 2030 ,” said the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, in a post on the social network X.
