Tirana, the capital of Albania, has experienced a significant increase in population and housing construction over the past decades. According to the data of the Census results for each district, "Scan Intel" has this time stopped at the age of the houses in the district of Tirana. Referring to the figures, the total number of ordinary inhabited dwellings in Tirana reaches 236,364.

These apartments were built in different historical periods, reflecting the urban and demographic development of the city. The largest share of ordinary dwellings inhabited in the capital, of 33%, is made up of dwellings built during the years 1981-2000. So, in other words, about 78,758 households are aged 24-43.

About 32% of the total housing in Tirana was built around 2001-2010, or expressed in absolute terms, the number reaches about 76 thousand. The houses built between 1961 and 1980 have a significant weight, with 11% of the total or about 26,000 houses.

According to the data made public by the "Institute of Statistics", almost 15% of the houses inhabited in the capital were built from 2011 and later. Meanwhile, buildings built before 1960 make up about 6% of the total.

These data show a significant increase in housing construction after the 1980s, with a particular peak during the period 1981-2000. This period coincides with major political and economic changes in Albania, which brought a boom in construction and urbanization in Tirana.

This continuous urban development has brought new challenges and opportunities for the city, including the need for improved infrastructure, public services and sustainable urban planning.
