Albpetrol produces 70,250 tons of oil/ Production, state-owned company maintains trend of the last 3 years

About 70,250 tons of oil were produced by the public oil extraction company Albpetrol during 2024, an almost identical amount compared to the last 2 years. After 2020, which was a pandemic year, the amount produced has shown an increasing trend, to maintain almost the same levels in the period 2022 - 2024. However, these are not the best years in terms of extraction of black gold by Albpetrol in the last 10 years, given that in the period 2017 - 2019 the amount extracted has been greater.
Currently, Albpetrol produces oil from 5 sandy or limestone deposits, more specifically in the deposits: Kuçovë, Patos, Cakran – Mollaj, Gorisht – Kocul and Amoniće. The largest deposit is Gorisht – Kocul, where at least in the last 10 years the largest amount of oil has been extracted. For the year 2024, the amount of oil extracted from this deposit reached 32,478 tons. It is followed by the Kuçovë deposit, with about 16 thousand tons, and Cakran – Mollaj with about 14,100 tons.
According to the latest available data, Albpetrol's revenues reached around 1.47 billion lek for the first quarter of 2024. Expenses are recorded at almost the same level, resulting in a net profit of around 0.4 million lek. At the end of 2023, revenues were around 6 billion lek while expenses were around 5.93 billion lek, recording a net profit of around 74 million lek.
