67 thousand farmers benefited from agricultural funds - Free oil for tillage, over 52 thousand applicants were financed
Over 67 thousand farmers across the country have benefited from financing from the Agricultural Subsidy Scheme throughout 2024.
Official data from the Ministry of Agriculture shows that funds have been disbursed specifically to 67,132 beneficiaries in total, of which 14,937 beneficiaries from the national scheme out of 13,900 planned, as well as 52,195 out of 31,500 beneficiaries planned from the oil subsidy scheme for agriculture.
Of the total number of beneficiaries, 2,425 women have benefited from funds from the national scheme, as well as 5,043 women from the oil subsidy scheme for agriculture.
During the past year, 69,858 farmers applied to the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, including around 15,597 applicants for national schemes and 54,255 for oil support for agriculture.
The highest number of qualified farmers belongs to livestock support, followed by beekeeping, and medicinal plants.
If we compare the number of applicants with that of beneficiaries, there are only 2,728 farmers who were disqualified and failed to benefit, because they did not complete the relevant documentation.
Meanwhile, farmer applications for the National Subsidy Scheme 2025 remain open until May 30, giving even those who were unable to obtain funding during the past year the opportunity to benefit.
The fund for this year is 3.2 billion lek and more priority in financing will be given to agricultural cooperative societies, which will not have a financing limit.
