Minister Nufi in Athens: More cooperation in security and management of civil

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Ermal Nufi, paid an official visit to Athens, where he was warmly welcomed by his counterpart, the Minister of National Defense of Greece, Mr. Nikos Dendias. The focus of this visit was the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Albania and Greece in the field of defense and security. During the meeting, both sides appreciated the constructive and very positive dynamics of bilateral relations, as well as the common interest in strengthening practical cooperation within NATO and in support of regional stability. Minister Nufi emphasized that Greece remains a valued friend and ally, while appreciating the unwavering Greek support for Albania’s European journey. Cyber ​​defense and cybersecurity were part of the conversation between the two ministers, with a focus on expanding cooperation in these areas. In this context, Minister Nufi stated that: "Albania has made significant progress in increasing cyber resilience through close cooperation with NATO Allies and strategic partners, and we are ready to strengthen our engagement in the cyber field, both at the bilateral level and within the framework of NATO structures."

Nufi praised the strong interaction between the military personnel of the two countries through joint activities, military education, training programs and exchange of expertise, while another topic of conversation between the two ministers was the further deepening of cooperation, coordination and mutual assistance in dealing with possible civil emergency situations during the summer season.

During the visit to Athens and at the invitation of his counterpart Dendias, the Minister of Defense Mr. Ermal Nufi will participate in the Athens Defense Conference (Athens Defense Conference 2026), organized by the Delphi Economic Forum, and the Hellenic Foundation for Europe and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP).
