Albania celebrates 113th anniversary of independence - Flag raising ceremony takes place in Vlora
Albania celebrates today the 113th anniversary of independence and honors National Flag Day, a symbol of our historical journey, the challenges faced, and the values that unite Albanians everywhere.
From Vlora, according to annual tradition, the celebrations opened with the state ceremony of raising the Flag, to the sounds of the National Anthem, and with the presence of the highest political figures of Albania and Kosovo, who paid homage to the contribution of Albanian patriots to freedom and statehood.
A wreath of flowers was placed by Prime Minister Edi Rama at the monumental resting place of Ismail Qemali, in honor and respect of the sacrifices for the ideal of a free and independent Albania.
November 28th, Independence Day, is a day of reflection, and a permanent reminder of the values of freedom, unity, and identity that continue to guide Albania's aspirations.
