Works at Vlora/Balluku International Airport: Deadlines will be respected, first flight on May 8th!
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, inspected the works at the Vlora airport construction site today. Balluku said that work is being carried out in three shifts to meet the deadlines for the completion of the Vlora international airport.
"The tower looks finished, but there are still scaffolding and the terminal looks somewhat finished, but we must know that we are talking about a very large area. This construction site is huge, and there are three shifts working here. It is not just a construction site, it is a runway at an international airport. The work that is done here requires a lot of care and all standards must be met. We have the logistics set up, warehouses, not only passenger flights, but also cargo flights. We have another component, which is the Civil Aviation Academy. This new airport opens 1,200 jobs ," she said.
Describing it as a very important point that will help the country's economy and tourism, Balluku added that all deadlines and standards for the construction of the airport will be met and that the first flight will be on May 8.
"This is the first Albanian industry that is in line with all the requirements of European countries. It will be one of the points of economic development and the greatest tourism of the entire country. It must be said that we have very good partners from Italy. I am confident that we will meet the deadlines so that not only Vlora has an airport, but that all of Albania has another international airport. Then see you on May 8", said Balluku.
