How much does it cost to communicate via mobile phone? On average, $192 per year. The Balkans and Albania, with average costs

One of the expenses we face every month is the money that goes for communication and internet use in mobile offers. But how much does a mobile offer really cost in our daily lives and how does this cost compare to other countries in the world? According to the analysis of “Scan Intel” and the statistics of Data Hub, it turns out that in Albania mobile offers vary on average around 16 dollars per month. If we compare this price level with other countries in the region, it is noticeable that the tariffs are almost the same. On an annual basis, this means that an Albanian citizen pays on average about 192 dollars for mobile offers.
Meanwhile, in Europe, the country with the most expensive mobile offers is Switzerland, where an offer costs around $44 per month on average. However, given that Switzerland has a high level of welfare, this price is considered relatively affordable for its citizens. The Nordic countries also appear in the same line, with high prices for mobile services. Following them are the Balkan countries, which, although they do not have the highest prices in Europe, offer services at relatively high costs for this category.
If we look at this report on a global scale, it turns out that Greenland and Turkmenistan are among the countries with the highest costs of telephone services in the world. This comes for very specific reasons. Greenland has about 56 thousand inhabitants, distributed in small towns and isolated villages, which means few customers to cover very high infrastructure costs. Moreover, due to extreme weather conditions, many areas are covered by satellite connections and not by fiber optics, which makes the Internet more expensive and with limited capacity. While in Turkmenistan, the high prices are mainly related to the fact that almost only one state operator operates, with no real competition in the market.
On the other hand, countries like India, Somalia, and Nigeria offer very low-cost mobile packages, often less than $5 per month. This is largely due to their very large populations, which allow operators to spread costs across a wide user base and keep prices minimal.
