Imported goods became cheaper/ In 2025, the prices of energy and industrial

According to data published by the Institute of Statistics, the Import Price Index in the fourth quarter of 2025 reached 107.4 (with base year 2021=100). Compared to the same period in 2024, import prices marked a decrease of 0.5%, while compared to the third quarter of 2025, a very slight increase was recorded.

The annual decline was mainly driven by a 4.1% drop in prices in the electricity, gas and air conditioning sector, as well as in the water supply and waste management sectors (-0.8%) and the extractive industry (-0.5%). Meanwhile, the manufacturing industry, which accounts for the largest share of imports with around 94%, recorded a slight decrease of 0.3%.

Within the manufacturing industry, the largest price declines were observed in clothing (-1.5%), metallurgy (-1.1%), rubber and plastic products (-1.0%) and textiles (-0.9%). On the other hand, some products recorded price increases, such as tobacco products (+1.3%), furniture (+1.2%) and printing activities (+0.8%).

Compared to the third quarter of 2025, import prices experienced minor fluctuations. Decreases were recorded in the water supply and waste management (-0.7%), energy (-0.6%) and extractive industry (-0.5%) sectors, while the manufacturing industry recorded a minimal increase of 0.1%, mainly influenced by food processing and furniture production.

Overall, the data point to a slight stabilization of the costs of imported products at the end of 2025, with moderate price movements in the main industrial sectors.
