Zogaj – Ckla/Skje, bilateral meeting for a joint border crossing point with Montenegro
An inter-institutional coordination meeting was held today in the framework of preparations for the opening of the Zogaj - Ckla/Skje Joint Border Crossing Point, between the Republic of Albania and Montenegro.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the customs administrations of both countries, border police structures, local authorities and responsible infrastructure institutions, where the progress of the working group, the determination of the location of the customs point, as well as the technical elements for its operationalization as soon as possible within this season were discussed.
The opening of this new border crossing will facilitate cross-border movement for citizens, bring communities on both sides of the border closer together, and create new opportunities for the economic and tourist development of the area.
The common point will operate with a one-stop control model, simplifying border procedures and increasing the efficiency of crossing.
