Reducing the price of energy for retirees - Alternatives pursued by the government through compensation
While Prime Minister Edi Rama has promised to reduce the price of energy for pensioners, TV SCAN brings to attention the alternatives followed so far to ease the bills for this category of citizens.
Taking into consideration that the approval of a differentiated price by the Energy Regulatory Entity is not allowed by the legislation in force, there are currently in force 2 compensation schemes with a total of 1288 ALL, which are an integral part of the pension measure.
This value includes the compensation measure of ALL 648, after the removal of the protective band of 300 kWh/month in 2014, as well as the value of ALL 640 that was set earlier by the change in the electricity price.
Currently, all categories of pensions benefit from the compensation of expenses from the change in the price of electricity in the amount of 640 Lek, for the consumption level of 200 kWh.
Pensioners who benefit from this compensation must be the head of the family, receiving a state disability pension, and have no family members employed in the public sector or self-employed in the private sector or heads of the family, living alone or with dependent children, who are without income.
Meanwhile, pensioners who do not have employed or self-employed family members, live alone, or have dependent children without income benefit from the compensation of 648 ALL.
