Meeting with Commissioner Kos in Brussels, Minister Hoxha: Albania's progress is reflected in comprehensive reforms
Following his first official visit to Brussels as head of Albanian diplomacy, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, met with the Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos.
Minister Hoxha considered this meeting an excellent opportunity to reconfirm Albania's unprecedented progress on its path towards the European Union.
This progress, according to the Minister, is reflected in the pace and quality of our negotiation process, as well as in the deep and comprehensive reforms being undertaken in our institutions and society.
The path forward, according to him, is clear, but also more ambitious than ever.
"Albania remains fully committed to maintaining this momentum and delivering on our common and ambitious work plans for the accession process with the same determination that has guided our progress to date. With the Interim Milestone Assessment Reports for the Basic Chapter Group (#IBARs) undergoing verification by Member States, as well as the intensive work continuing on the implementation of the #GrowthPlan, our agenda remains focused, substantive and future-oriented," added Hoxha.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that "we are sparing no effort and are wasting no time to meet the established criteria."
At a time of growing geopolitical challenges - underlined Hoxha - the enlargement of the European Union has regained strategic importance as a key instrument for extending stability, prosperity and democratic values throughout our continent.
"This is both a historic moment and a test of our collective determination to fulfill the promise of a united Europe. Albania is ready to continue to do its part, with determination, responsibility and unwavering commitment to the European project," concluded the Foreign Minister.
During the meeting, Commissioner Kos conveyed her appreciation for the will and seriousness with which Albania has advanced its commitments within the framework of European integration, at a time when the enlargement process has been and remains a process based on merit and real results.
