Technical Safety/ IKMT inspects 114 construction sites within 1 week
The National Inspectorate of Territorial Protection, through the Directorate of Territory Inspection and Planning, in coordination with the ARD, conducted 114 inspections in the field of construction last week, with a particular focus on the implementation of the legality of construction permits and technical safety at construction sites.
The inspection aims to identify measures taken for 27 safety elements, including: fencing of construction sites, signage, technical security of passage tunnels for citizens in areas bordering sidewalks, fire protection and temporary access roads, etc.
The entities that were subject to inspection last week were carrying out construction activities in the territories of the municipalities of Tirana, Vlora and Kavaja. Also, during this period, 65 other inspections were carried out by the regional directorates of the IKMT in the regions in the field of construction in urban, rural and industrial areas.
105 entities have been given tasks to complete within a 10-day period, after which they will be re-inspected for technical safety measures. In cases where the deficiencies found are not addressed, the entities will be subject to penalties, ranging from fines to blocking the construction site.
IKMT, in cooperation with the AZT and the IMTs of the municipalities, continues to inspect other entities throughout the country.
