Albania leads the Western Balkans region for Green Economy!
According to the latest OECD report "Economic Convergence Scoreboard for the Western Balkans 2025", Albania ranks first in the Western Balkans for compliance with the European Union's green policies, surpassing all neighboring countries in the "Greening Cluster", with a score of 103 points, also ranking above the EU average (100 points) and the Western Balkans (47 points).
Albania has made significant progress in this area due to the increased institutional attention to the green agenda, through the inclusion of sustainability objectives in national and cross-sectoral plans.
Albania's first ranking in this dimension is seen as an opportunity to lead the regional green transition;
An advantage for attracting sustainable foreign investment;
A window for green financing from the EU and international institutions.
The Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, in the role of the National Coordinator of this report, remains committed to developing policies that promote the green economy and sustainable growth, as part of Albania's efforts for European integration.
