Albania, up to 40 soldiers in Gaza/ Draft law defines selection and financial criteria
Albania will send up to 40 soldiers to the International Stability Force military operation in Gaza. Everything is stipulated in the draft law approved by the Council of Ministers the day before.
Among other things, the document stipulates that the mission of the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania in the military operation of the International Stability Force in Gaza will be to support security and stability operations, protect the personnel, facilities and infrastructure of the mission, support humanitarian operations, monitor and report on the security situation, as well as other tasks, in accordance with the mission's mandate, within the framework of the Peace Board.
Regarding financial treatment, it is emphasized that military personnel participating in the International Stability Force operation in Gaza, in addition to their monthly salary, receive a daily allowance for the days spent in the operation, to the extent that will be determined by decision of the Council of Ministers.
The "Peace Board," an initiative of US President Donald Trump, was established on February 19, 2026, with about 20 member countries signing on to the new venture and announcing more than $6.5 billion in financial pledges.
The initial investment of about $1.25 billion will go towards munitions clearance, temporary shelter, security, medical supplies and other needs, the official said. Rebuilding Gaza is expected to cost about $53 billion, according to a report by the World Bank, the UN and the European Union.
Meanwhile, today US President Donald Trump announced that "The Peace Board reached a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza. This is a monumental step towards lasting peace and security," President Trump concluded the announcement.
