Librazhd-Pogradec road, head of the Geological Service, Bylyku: Rainfall is the cause

Ardian Bylyku from the Albanian Geological Survey says that the main reason for the collapse of the Librazhd-Pogradec road is the amount of heavy rainfall, which this year, according to him, has been three times higher than the amount of rainfall over the previous 2 years.
Byluku said that the Geological Survey will conduct all necessary expertise and analyses to then suggest appropriate solutions to the authorities.
"The amount of precipitation has been three times higher than in the previous 2 years. It is a phenomenon known as the phenomenon of oversaturation of structures, and has given maximum overload, resulting in the main factor for the collapse of the entire structure. The geological service is continuing with the part of the in-depth studies, related to the interpretations of the results of about 500 linear meters of drilling that will be placed by experts, as well as the series of analyses. Thanks to this work, the measurement of the results will be done by us, and the interpretation of all the recommendations that the geological service will make for this situation", - said Bylyku.
