Elbasan-Qafë Thanë road, 378 million lekë for expropriations - Corridor VIII, compensation of owners allows the closure of works on lot 4
Around 378 million lek is the expropriation fund for owners affected by the construction of the Elbasan-Qafë Thanë road axis, part of Corridor VIII. The list of assets that will be compensated for lot 4 has been published in the Official Gazette, while it is specified that the deadline for completing the expropriation is within 3 months. Meanwhile, in order to benefit, owners who are part of the list must submit the justifying documentation for liquidation to the State Agency for Expropriation.
With the completion of the expropriation process of the owners, the way is opened for the completion of works on this road segment, which is currently being worked on in several phases.
More specifically, in the direction from Elbasan to Qafë – Thanë, work is being carried out in 8 lots with a length of 26 km, while the progress of each of them is different. The most advanced is the first phase, which has been opened to vehicle traffic, while until a few months ago the progress in lots 2-5 ranged from 36% to 70%.
Part of Corridor VIII is also the Elbasan bypass, where work has not yet started, while there are 6 other lots in the direction from Elbasan to Rrogozhina, where work is currently underway. These lots start near the former Elbasan Metallurgical Complex in the direction of Lekaj, where the junction with the Adriatic-Ionian highway takes place.
Corridor 8 will connect the ports of Italy with the ports of Varna and Burgas in Bulgaria, passing through Albania, North Macedonia and Bulgaria. It extends for about 154 km in Albanian territory.
