"Progressive increase in pensions until 2030" - Ibrahimaj: 1.7 billion lek for the increase, 50 million euros for indexation
From January 1, 2026, a progressive increase in pensions is foreseen. 1.7 billion lekë is foreseen for the increase, while around 50 million euros will be used for indexation. The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, during the public hearings on the 2026 budget in the capital, has reiterated that the focus will be on increasing urban and rural pensions.
As for the year-end bonus, the distribution will be made in two installments: 15,000 and 10,000 lek. ISSH and the Ministry of Economy announce that the bonuses will be paid during December and the deadline for withdrawal is until June 30, 2026.
The bonus of 15,000 lek, according to the Social Security Institute, benefits 540,950 people, mainly:
.Pensioners with income up to 20,000 lek
.Disability pensions
.Family pensions
.Social pension
.Special financial treatments (miners, military industry, veterans)
Early retirement pensions for seniority of service
.Difficult professions up to 20,000 lek
The bonus of 10,000 lek is benefiting 221,780 people, mainly:
Pensioners with income over 20,000 lekë
. Special financial treatments over 20,000 lekë
.Early pensions over 20,000 lek
Supplementary state pensions and difficult professions with benefits over 20,000 lekë.
Meanwhile, pensions for the disabled are projected to increase gradually up to 300 thousand lekë. The increases will be progressive until 2029 and will be supplemented by annual indexations foreseen in the budget.
