"Salaries for State Police employees are increasing" - Minister

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Albana Koçiu, announced another salary increase for around 720 members of special structures, who are on the front lines of confronting organized crime and high-risk individuals. The increase affects the three special structures of the State Police: RENEA, the National Security Forces (former FNSH) and the Special Operational Force.

Specifically, for the RENEA special forces, the salary increases by 250 thousand lek (about 250 euros), or 20% more. For the National Security Forces and the Special Operational Force, the salary increases by 140 thousand lek, or about 14%. After this increase, the salary of an inspector in RENEA goes to almost 1,600 euros, while for a manager it reaches about 2,300 euros. In the Operational Force, the salary for the inspector rank goes to about 1,200 euros, while for the chief commissioner rank it ranges from 1,600 to 1,700 euros. The financial effect of this increase is foreseen in the state budget for this year.

Minister Koçiu also announced the initiative for the use of seized and confiscated criminal assets for the direct benefit of society.

During 2025 alone, 726 assets were seized, with a total value of over 6 billion lekë. Of these, 64 assets were confiscated and contributed to supporting 15 projects with social impact and direct services for the community, and were made available to 20 public institutions for the implementation of their programs. In addition, a legal basis has been created for the transfer of confiscated properties to local governments for housing people in need, as well as for the establishment of social or residential centers for victims of violence, crime and trafficking.

According to the minister, referring to the controls to restore legality to the territory, 252 entities have been identified nationwide that have violated construction permit specifications, 447 illegal constructions or additions have been demolished, and fines have been imposed with an approximate value of 12 million euros.
