According to figures published by the DPSHTRR, 25.8% of the total vehicles have remained under testing. Specifically, 26,207 vehicles have remained under control for reasons related mainly to 34% due to visual and functional deficiencies;
35% due to problems with the exhaust system; 13% for problems with the steering system and 18% due to the braking system.
Meanwhile, 3,137 vehicles with an average age of 22 years have been permanently deregistered because they did not meet the technical conditions for circulation. This indicator shows the necessity for the renewal of the road fleet in the country.
