Prime Minister Edi Rama, during his speech today at the National Assembly of the Socialist Party, proposed Niko Peleshi as the new Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, while the MP from Durrës, Klodjana Spahiu, was nominated as the new Deputy Speaker for the new assembly!
"The right person to take over from Elisa as speaker of the Albanian parliament, while Durrës MP, Klodjana Spahiu is the right deputy speaker for the new parliament ," Rama said.
"The new presidency of the assembly and the government must assign it the task of moving from the existing hall to a new building. The institution of the Assembly of Albania must be raised to another level, management and functioning. For this, the new law alone, with financial independence and the status of the deputy, is not enough. But a new approach is needed, of the entire administrative machinery of the assembly with a focus on modernization.
"As for the leadership of the new parliamentary group, I believe there is very little to think about. For his long experience as an MP by the number of mandates, for his knowledge of the task of group leaders better than anyone, Taulant Balla is the right MP at the right time and place," he said.
