"Innovators, strategic human capital for the country" - Rama, at Hackathon: For those of you who have ideas, we will offer our full support
The Albanian government will offer more support to all young people who have an innovative idea. Recently, a call was opened for those who had an idea on how artificial intelligence can solve problems in education or health. Out of 161 applications, only 21 passed the first phase.
This initiative is being held at the EU-Western Balkans Investment Forum, bringing together innovators, startups, entrepreneurs, investors, and public policymakers from the Western Balkans and the European Union. Prime Minister Edi Rama was also present at the hackathon.
"We have agreed internally to move the process forward by opening the doors of the government to all innovators and by creating a common space with the core of the agency of excellence that we have created a short time ago and which we will make available to you and all innovators. This means that we want startups, innovators to have the opportunity to access institutions and by accessing institutions to have the opportunity to see the problems up close, but also to use their data, to use their statistics, to use all that dough that is then the basis of solutions through artificial intelligence and the creation of artificial intelligence models", emphasized the Prime Minister.
Rama stated that innovators constitute a strategic human capital for the country.
"We have the challenge of creating a very powerful accelerator in support of our Minister of Artificial Intelligence who is artificial intelligence itself and of course this accelerator will be based on you, on the human capital that we have within the AKSHI or within the agency of excellence and with this synergy we will try to expand the brains of each of the central institutions with artificial intelligence. This is the plan. Since the ambition for surprising developments is also focused here at this point, then this makes all of you extremely important. A strategic human capital for our country", said Rama.
Only one winner will be selected from the hackathon and will attend the most famous startup event, SLUSH, in Helsinki.
