New electrical substation in Tirana - OST opens the competition, aiming to increase energy efficiency

The Transmission System Operator has announced the opening of the competition for the construction of the new 220/110 kV Traktora substation, with a limit fund of 916 million and 142 thousand lekë.
According to the document in the Public Procurement Agency, the project refers to the reconstruction according to phase I of the 220/110/20 kV Traktora substation. The new Traktora substation will be built next to the existing substation and will have a new service building. The concept of the new substation will be with a 220kV line tract, and a 220/110/20kV autotransformer tract.
The works will be carried out in phases, while the project also includes the installation and improvement of telecommunications systems, to connect to the national OST network.
Referring to the document, the goal of this investment is to increase the security and capacity of electricity transmission for the Tirana area and beyond.
An important part of the project is also related to telecommunications equipment and control systems. As part of this investment, new telecommunications equipment will be supplied, installed and put into operation, which will be compatible with the existing OST network. These systems will be connected to the Traktora, Farkë, Selitë and Tirana 1 substations, enabling the secure transmission of control and monitoring signals of electricity.
This investment aims to increase the security and capacity of electricity transmission. The construction of the new Traktora substation will modernize the energy system and enable it to cope with the growing demand for electricity in the coming years, the document states.
