The first "Made in Albania" vehicles for the army/ Rama: Within 2028, the Armed Forces will be equipped with all capacities

For the first time, the Armed Forces will use military equipment “Made in Albania”. Prime Minister Edi Rama was present at the ceremony of the Armed Forces receiving the first 40 tactical vehicles manufactured in Albania by the company “Timak Defence” with NATO standards.
" By 2028, the Albanian army will have all the tools and capacities, from the lightest car to the most sophisticated weapons. There will no longer be a single four-wheeled vehicle that our forces will lack, there will be a large fleet of vehicles according to NATO standards in terms of number of forces and territory. We have agreements with giants of the military industry, don't be surprised when one day they come here again and exhibit things produced here, which they will also give to the American army. Made in Albania production! Who would have imagined it?! This is the other Albania that we have built and that will begin to provide other yields and products. 14 new fire extinguishers are being produced today as we speak, we have not been able to make them together in 14 years, when we took Albania without fire extinguishers ," said Rama.
According to the Prime Minister, the ambition with "Timak Defence" is to create a "Made in Albania" entrepreneurial reality that will guarantee the necessary quantities and high quality for the needs of the Albanian state, but will also export its products to friendly and allied countries.
" The logistics base will be a company of the Albanian army at the service of all municipalities. An infrastructure company that will carry out maintenance, will make interventions for the infrastructure of canals, rural roads, etc. It will be in function of emergencies and constantly in function of local government. The Ministry of Defense will also be opened for tourism, to create what all NATO armies have, when they make their assets available for tourism. The time has come for the state to be a partner, to make capacities available not only for service, but also for profit, to receive income that will be reinvested in the function of citizens" , said Rama.
In civil emergency operations, these capacities will increase the effectiveness of response to fires, floods, search and rescue and critical situations, especially in areas with difficult access. While in NATO and European Union operations, they increase the ability to deploy and interact with our contingents according to common standards in multinational operations.
