Amid debates between majority and opposition MPs, the Laws Committee has begun discussing the draft law "On Integrated Waste Management".
One of the most discussed points was the proposed new scheme for central management, raising questions about the infringement of municipal competencies or the increase in taxes for citizens.
Unlike the draft issued for public consultation, the document sent for approval has withdrawn the proposal to allow the import of waste.
According to the Ministry of Environment, the law aims to align with European Union legislation, further regulate and improve the integrated waste management system.
Meanwhile, before approval, the Laws Committee will hold hearings with municipal associations.
