Over 666 million lek investments for road signage and safety - ARRSH opens 4 tenders in the four regions of the country

The Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH) has announced four tenders with a total limit fund of around 666.4 million lekë, for the improvement of road signage and safety equipment on the national axes of the Northern, Center-West, Southern and Center-East regions.
The interventions will include horizontal signage, replacement of damaged road signs, installation of protective barriers, repair of metal railings, reflective elements, lighting of problematic intersections, as well as repair of bridge joints in a number of segments of the national road network. The main objective of the project is to increase road safety, improve driver orientation and reduce the number of accidents.
In the Northern Region, where the limit fund reaches approximately 187.4 million lekë, one of the main projects is the intervention in the Shkodra Bypass. Although the road infrastructure is considered in very good condition, the ARRSH estimates that the horizontal signage has depreciated, while some of the road signs have lost their reflectivity and functionality. The project foresees the refreshing of the markings, the replacement of damaged signs, the repair of metal barriers and the control of the lighting system.
Meanwhile, in the Center-West Region, where the largest fund of 191.6 million lek has been foreseen, the interventions will extend to some of the most important axes of the country. Works will be carried out in the segments Plepa–Ish Euro Drini–Bishti i Zhurit; Bishti i Zhurit–Elbasan; Tirana–Elbasan and Çermë–Divjakë. The project also includes the repair of bridge joints in the Shkozet and Plepa overpasses, on the Tirana–Elbasan highway, as well as on the Plepa–Bishti i Zhurit and Bishti i Zhurit–Bradashesh axes. In this region, noise barriers are also planned along the Plepa–Golem segment and in the Mulleti area on the Tirana–Elbasan highway.
For the Southern Region, the ARA has foreseen a limit fund of 187.4 million lek. The interventions will focus on the Mbrostar–Levan highway, as well as on the Mallakastër–Tepelena–Kakavija Customs axis, where horizontal and vertical signage will be improved, high-risk intersections will be illuminated, and bridge joints along the Vlorë–Levan segment will be repaired.
On the other hand, in the Center-East Region, where the limit fund reaches nearly 100 million lekë, works will be carried out in the segments Urakë–Golik i Poshtëm, Librazhd–Zgosht Ring Road, Drizë–Holtës Canyon, Podgorie–Liqenas, Libonik–Maliq and at the Gështenjas intersection on the Pogradec–Korça axis.
