Over 13 thousand phytosanitary certificates for the export of plant products - Minister Denaj: Increasing standards and agricultural exports
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development announced in a post on social networks that during the period January-June 2025, 13,611 phytosanitary certificates were issued for the export of plants, plant products and other agricultural products. The phytosanitary certificate is a guarantee for the quality and safety of exports of plants and products of plant origin to the EU and other countries of the world.
According to Minister Denaj, compared to the same period a year ago, this figure is 19% higher and is a clear reflection of the fulfillment of phytosanitary safety standards by farmers and operators of the agri-food chain, in accordance with the legal framework of the European Union.
Meanwhile, obtaining a phytosanitary certificate is offered online, a process that facilitates export business, reduces waiting time, and affects the maintenance of agricultural product standards in exports.
Plants and products of plant origin that are exported to the EU and other countries around the world must be accompanied by "phytosanitary certificates" to prove that they are clean from a health perspective.
Completing the phytosanitary certificate manually and carrying out the monitoring requires an average of 1-1.5 hours of work. Meanwhile, the online process for all economic operators who will carry out exports does not take more than 10 minutes.
