Electric cars change Albanians' choices/ Around 6,187 "green" vehicles change the country's roads
The electric vehicle fleet in Albania marked a record growth with 6,187 “All-Electric” registrations, almost double the number in 2024. This trend shows a clear progress towards green transportation and a gradual change in the structure of the national vehicle fleet, as citizens and businesses are increasingly choosing environmentally friendly alternatives.
According to the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, the 2025 growth is one of the highest in the history of electric mobility in the country, reflecting not only the growing interest in "green" vehicles, but also a sustainable change in consumer choices.
Factors such as lower operating costs, environmental awareness and interest in new technologies have driven this trend, while the need for expanding charging infrastructure and supporting public policies have increased. DPSHTRR considers it a positive signal, cleaner, more sustainable and environmentally friendly transport, as well as gradually meeting national environmental objectives.
