New 110 kV Saranda–Xarrë power line/ OST opens the competition for construction. Aiming for greater security of supply

The Transmission System Operator has announced the competition for the construction of the 110 kV Saranda-Xarrë line, an investment that aims to increase the security of electricity supply.
According to the document published by the Public Procurement Agency, the estimated limit fund reaches 497 million and 588 thousand lekë. The project envisages the construction of a new line that will connect Saranda with Xarra, creating a more secure connection to the electricity network in this area.
The new line will be built along a new route, while underground cables will be used in the segment near the Saranda substation. The works will also include the construction of new points of connection of the line to the electrical grid.
Referring to the document, the purpose of the investment is to increase the security of electricity supply and improve the functioning of the network in the Saranda area.
According to the project, the first part of the line, at the entrance to the Saranda Substation, will be run underground. This intervention aims to increase security of supply and protect the line in this part.
The project also foresees that during the works, a temporary solution will be found for the power supply of the Saranda Substation, so that the interventions do not affect its functioning. In case of damage to the power, water, gas, telecommunications or other service networks, they must be repaired and restored to their previous state.
The construction of the Saranda-Xarrë line aims to improve security of supply, increase network stability and strengthen energy infrastructure in the Saranda area.
