Tax Amnesty Law: We have deleted 91.6 million euros in fines from the system, 105,409 taxpayers benefited

In implementation of the Amnesty Law, the tax authorities have announced that they have deleted 91.6 million euros in fines from the system, charged to 105,409 taxpayers. In a post on social media, the tax authorities have announced the figures and have also announced that applications to benefit from this law will last until June 30, 2026.
The following is the post made by the Tax Administration:
"The Tax Administration, in cooperation with experts from the National Tax Agency and the Tax Administration, has successfully completed the process of unconditional cancellation of unpaid tax liabilities as follows: 105,409 taxpayers have benefited from this process, having their liabilities worth 91.6 million euros cancelled/extinguished, of which:
- 70.5 million euros in administrative fines imposed by tax inspectors for unpaid obligations related to tax periods up to 31 December 2014 and with accounting dates up to 31.12.2024, for 13,667 beneficiary taxpayers.
- 21.1 million euros in other administrative fines, including fines for late submission of declarations, related to tax periods until December 31, 2024 and with an accounting date until June 30, 2026, provided that the relevant declarations have the status "submitted", for 96,302 beneficiary taxpayers.
We remind taxpayers that they have until June 30, 2026:
- To pay in a single installment 50% of the main obligation (principal) for tax obligations for the period 01.01.2015 - 31.12.2019, in order to benefit from the cancellation of the remaining 50% of the principal, as well as the full forgiveness of fines and late payment interest.
